Use the information provided to write the standard form equation of each circle. Center (0,0) Radius: 1

OpenStudy (ash2326):

A circle with radius r and center (a, b) has equation \[(x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r^2\] Could you write the equation @Pocket-Fire ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry I know this may seem like a dumb question, but I know where I would Plug in a and b but what exactly am I doing with x and y?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Pocket-Fire the only dumb question is the one which is not asked you know x and y are coordinates which will lie on this circle and they are connected by the circle's equation. It's not that any x or y would do but x and y which satisfy this equation will lie on the circle.

Okay... I think I'm starting to understand.

Thanks! :)
