For problems 1 – 5, graph each of the following logarithmic functions using technology. f(x) = log0.3 x (1 point) f(x) = log (x) + 4 (1 point) f(x) = log (x – 2) (1 point) f(x) = log0.2 (x + 6)(1 point) f(x) = log3 (x) – 1 (1 point)
Please Help
do you know the graph of log x for a base >1 ?
I really dont know much about log functions
do you know how log is defined?
ya that i do
Do you know how to solve the problms ash?
Yeah:) If we have \[\log_x y=z\] What does that imply?
Not really sure. Like i said im not really to great at this lesson. Im actually on lesson 9 in the books and this was like lesson 6 and its a test.. I dont know the answers :(
If i exit ut i will get a 0% for it..
There are 50 questions on the test i just dont understand these 5 thats all..
@Marlins0412 you know if I'd help you or if I solve the problem it'd be cheating. Just marks won't help you. Please try to them yourself or if the test is an open book type, refer your books. Thanks
No ash dont lveave
Could you atleast go over 3 of the 5 with me please?
Hey Marlins, are you in a quiz?
Oh nvm....It's a test. Psh boi or gurl... you should read this http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct You shouldn't be cheating...
hmm, i dunno what your restrictions on getting help are .....
graph using technology eh; well wolframalpha is a good graphing site
I just really need help on either working it out with someone or them explaining it for me..
Is it open book?
these all look like shifts or other basic transformations; but the directions say to use technology ....
So how do i use technology?
most technology likes to work with lns or log base 10s either using a graphing calculator or even a graphing website id assume
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=log3+%28x%29+%E2%80%93+1 the wolf seems to understand it pretty good
Would you be able to help me with this?
make sure you pick the "real valued" parts tho, im sure thats a caveat for you
So by typing this into wolf alpha where would the answer be?
do you know what a graph is?
yup
and its asking you to graph these using technology; the wolf gives you a graph, you just might wanna make sure its showing a "real-valued" graph cause it like to throw in the complex values as well
Can you just help my ill give you a best answer thing just help me with 3 please
just type in log(x-2) into the wolf ...
ok but what would be the answer would i just put the answer as 3 because its the root?
its not asking for a root, its asking you to graph it using technology; are there any pictures to choose from?
No pics
are you drawing it by hand on an answer sheet?
Im not drawing it
It on the computer
then what is it your doing to supply an answer?
Plotting point i suppose
can you take a screen shot of your problem?
Wellwhat you see typed above is 5 problems
0,3 is the root, but from what youve posted, thats not going to be an adequate answer
if i could see what it is your looking at, i might be able to determine what it is that needs to be done .....
Whats above is the questions its the same thing im looking at.
...and yet youre spose to graph these function using technology :/
I dont need technology i justneed the points if you could
the points arent pretty, the roots prolly are; but im not sure how to answer them ... good luck tho
