OpenStudy (anonymous):

The numbers in an arithmetic sequence differ by the subtraction and/or addition of a number. For example: \[2, 4 ,6,8,10,12\]Is an arithmetic sequence because each term is +2 from the one before it. The numbers in a geometric sequence differ by the multiplication and/or division of a number. For example: \[2,4,8,16,32,64,128\]Is a geometric sequence because each term is 2x the term before it.
