Solve x2 − 3x = 28

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

change to standard form first x^2 - 3x - 28 = 0 factor out (x-7)(x+4) = 0 does that help?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Not really. it doesn't.

hero (hero):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, so is the answer -4,7 ?

hero (hero):

@Igballoste, you never explained HOW you factored anything out.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i assumed she knew how....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 - 3x - 28 = 0 factorise them x^2-7x+4x-28=0 x(x-7)+4(x-7)=0 (x+4)(x-7)=0 x=-4 , x=-7

hero (hero):

I don't agree that x = -7

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

might wanna recheck that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its -4, 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh mistake sorry +7 ,-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank yo

OpenStudy (anonymous):
