How could I find the length of the two sides of a triangle given the hypotenuse? Its like an arrow shot at an angle with this velocity. How could I find the x and y velocities?

OpenStudy (cunningham2000):

You need more information, such as an angle or a side. Or you need to know it's isosceles or equilateral. a squared plus b squared = c squared. The hypotenuese is 'c'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so c is \[\sqrt{a ^{2}+ b ^{2}}\] am I right?
