If cot x = .78, what is tan x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The definition of cot is 1/tan. What do you think that does?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Well, you're clearly not responding. We know that: \[\cot(x) = 1/\tan(x)\] \[\tan(x) = .78\] You literally just replace the tan(x) in the first equation and get your answer.
