How do you find out if a graph has Infinitely many , 0 , 1 or 2 solutions?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

assuming your playing with a quadratic; find its discrimnant b^2-4ac

OpenStudy (amistre64):

some put the sqrt around it sqrt(b^2-4ac) if the value in the sqrtis negative, there are no real roots if its positive, we can derive 2 real roots from it if its zero, then there is only 1 solution to x=sqrt(0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 Its system of equations.. does it still work the same way?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmmm, the concept is similar, but they dont deal with quadratics exclusively tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 its an online class im taking is it possible you could look at the problem and explain it on here?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we can work thru it together, yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 okay i'll give you the password and username

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it might be better if you could just post the equations for us to see instead of giving out personal information like that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or if its a picture, you can draw it up with the "draw" button to clarify things with
