describe a government based effort (international or not) to improve resource use and management. include how the policy affects a specific country or area of the world.
One big example that you can get started with is the Three Gorges Dam in China. It's the world's largest hydroelectric plant that has just had its last generator put in. It was built to provide clean energy, but also to control the annual flooding of the Yangtze river which has been a historic problem for China. It's also a project that has a lot of controversy over it (it forced 1.4 million people to move to new homes because of the reservoir it would create, flooding out villages and cities behind the dam). There are also a large number of environmental concerns over it.
