It's been beneficial to research and knowledge on ancient Egyptian history and culture! It is the best-preserved tomb discovered thusfar, also. Lot of intact and factual artifacts. :)

His tomb had a lot of inscriptions with hieroglyphs. There were also a lot of artifacts. Researchers could learn a lot from these. So, there was more information on Ancient Egypt.

wach is right. Tut's tomb was crammed with a lot of artifacts that told us how he lived and gave us a better idea of what life was like back in ancient Egypt. It provided a lot of information for future archaeologists to learn from and make connections with when it came to doing more research on Egypt.

Up until that point, no tomb was found to be in such a complete state since most were robbed or destroyed for the riches inside. Many mummies were also destroyed in the same way since the ancient Egyptians usually wrapped trinkets and other valuables in with them. Tut's was the first complete tomb making it extremely important to archaeology back then and even today.

You might also be thinking of Howard Carter, the archaeologist who discovered the tomb. It was also famous for a "curse' which some claimed led to several deaths around it, including that of Lord Carnarvon who sponsored the dig.
