-17 + 5/3x = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add 17 to both the sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your Question is this ? \[\Large \frac{-17+5}{3x}=8\] am i right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just the way it looks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-17+5/3x=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 5/3x is together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok add 17 to both sides of equation \[\Large -17+17+\frac{5}{3x}=8+17\] so \[\Large \implies \frac{5}{3x}=25\] multiply both sides by 3x \[\Large \implies \frac{3x*5}{3x}=25*3x\] \[\Large \implies \frac{5}{1}=25*3x\] divide both sides by 25 \[\Large \implies \frac{5}{25}=3x\] \[\Large \implies \frac{1}{5}=3x\] divide both sides by 3 \[\Large \implies \frac{1}{5*3}=x\] \[\Large \implies \frac{1}{15}=x\]
