Please help! tan67degrees 30' AND sin67degrees 30'= ? CLICK ATTACHMENTS PLEASE
first recall the unit circle, rember what quad tan is in and if it is negative or postive in the quad find where 75. look at the answer but I am thinking -1-square root of 2 give me a second I will make sure I am right
Ok thanks
is this in degrees or rad?
degrees I believe
make sure plz the answer would change if not in degrees.
degrees for sure
okay
hang on doing some checking
Thanks
use the half angles to solve this
check something for me, does it want the exact answer or broken down because I have an answer for you,it just doesn't match the ones on the attchment
The options in the attachments are the only options :/ I think one will be equivalent to your answer though
do you have the half angles formual?
No :/
Half-Angle Formulas: sin x/2=±√[(1-cos x)/2)] cos x/2=±√[(1+cos x)/2)] tan x/2=(sin x)/(1+cos x) .. sin 75º=sin 150/2=±√[(1-cos 150)/2)] (use positive root because 75º is in quadrant I where sin>0) =√[(1-(-√3/2))/2)] =√[(1+√3/2)/2)] =√.933≈.966 .. cos 75º=cos 150/2=±√[(1+cos 150)/2)] (use positive root because 75º is in quadrant I where cos>0) =√[(1+(-√3/2))/2)] =√[(1-√3/2)/2)] =√.067≈.259 .. tan 75º=tan 150/2=sin 150/(1+cos 150) =(1/2)/(1+(-√3/2)) ≈3.73
does that help??
Yes! So those explain sin and tan? From my problems?
yes as close as possible.
I will try to find exact might take a few min for me
Oh thanks very much, and don't feel like you're in a rush. I'm patient. I just want to make sure I fully understand :)
no prob and don't want to lead you the wrong way either.
Yea, I'm not getting them :/ The options from the attachments aren't matching up to the help and explanation you provided me with
Dang! That's kinda hard to read haha
how do you attch a file??
Hmm... well. You can copy/paste that to a Powerpoint slide, then right click on the image that pasted and select save image. Then you save it, come back here, click attach file, and find the saved image
go to this website http://www.maths.surrey.ac.uk/hosted-sites/R.Knott/Fibonacci/simpleTrig.html
this website has the half angles worked out for you
did it work for you?
Yes, I was able to connect to the website
you see the chart that has the half angles on it?
Is it the chart above proofs?
yes
K, got it. Now I match them up?
match them up with the angles and exact answers given on the chart. Also, you might want to save that chart in case a problem like this happens again.
O.k, for sin would the answer be a.? :/ From my attachment? How would I get tan though
ON TAN THE FIRST ONE AND SIN THE LAST ONE ON THE ANSWERS
Oh, I get it now
look at the chart and you will find those answers on it.
Yup, see them. Thank you so much!
no prob sorry I could not be quicker for you.
No, it's totally fine! I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to help me. There should be more people like you on this site :) THANKS
