I am going to take a test soon and know of a type of problem whos answer could look like [0,2). Note the bracket and parenthesis. Could someone tell me what this type of math is called?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you give an example of this kind of problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats the problem I am having, I can't remember how a problem would look, but I know for a fact there is a type of math that uses this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could be referring to interval notation when displaying a set of numbers? for example for the function f(x), the domain could be D: xe[0,12)U[15,1000)xeR?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Absolutely right, it is definitely interval notation thank you.
