Find all solutions of the equation x^2 -2 x + 6 = 0 by using the quadratic formula. Express the soutions in the form a + bi
hi you can solve it by factorizing, its very easy method to solve.
i'm glad its easy... but i don't see it.
Do you know the quadratic formula?
wait friend i am explaining with you.
[-b-/+sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/2a
you can use also quadratic formula. Yes here is a=1,b=-2 and c=6 put the values then solve.
did you get me?
would the answer be \[2+/- 2i \sqrt{5} \over 2\]
I understand how to imput the numbers in the quadratic equation, I'm just unsure of the final answer.
Simplify the 2. So finally it would equal --> \[1 +/- i \sqrt{5}\]
put the values in below online calculator http://www.math.com/students/calculators/source/quadratic.htm
hhhhmm now its simple x=-b+-sqrootb^2-4ac/2a -(-2)+-sqroot-2^2+4ac
I attached a screenshot of where I am supposed to type in the answers. I am unsure how to do that part.
so where b<0: a=1, b=-1? and b>0: a=1, and b=1?
the "b=" parts are both wrong. :/ im gonna go to bed and try again at it in the morning.
thank yall for helping.
