Which factor can you cancel from the numerator and denominator to simplify 8 - 2x ------? 3x-12 [Hint: (a−x) = − (x − a)] 2/3 3/2 x-4 x+4
factor out 2 from top factor out 3 from bottom
Factor out -2 from top and 3 from bottom..
2/3
if you factor out both top and both, you get 4-x/x-12 cancel ot the x and you get x+4
Question is asking about cancellation..
\[\frac{8 - 2x}{3x - 12} \implies \frac{-2(x - 4)}{3(x - 4)}\]
oh, sorry didint read it properly. thanks @waterineyes
so its 2/3
@rebecca1233 tell me what factor is getting cancelled there??
@rebecca1233 it is x - 4 and not 2/3..
@annas read the question properly and then give medals please..
...
oh sorry :P
but @mathhasproblems did try her best
@mathhasproblems firstly you are giving direct answer and secondly you are giving them wrong?? Why??
ok ok cool down. human can make mistakes
@annas rebecca got it wrong due to this mistake of @mathhasproblems
c'mon guys relax.
And she now thinks 2/3 is the correct answer who is responsible for that??
its only a queston, stop making this an issue
well that is the answer
Answer is (x-4) @mathhasproblems
The factor which is cancelling there is (x-4) and not 2/3 Mind it please @mathhasproblems
again, there asking about which nimber you have to CANCEL out to simpify
Yes so which number?? x - 4 or 2/3 ?? @annas what do you think what should be the answer ??
from the top you cancel out 2 from the bttome you cancel out 3. Its not asking you ro simplify all the way
How can you cancel 2 and 3 ??
its asking for the factor so (x+4 ) will be answer
ok now please chill
you can take common 2 and 3 but cannot cancel them.. How (x+4) ??
@annas thanks you are also wrong..
Waterin eyes... shut up
because i took - common
can you show me how to take common and cancel x+4 there @annas
ok right
now just chill
Annas it will be advisable for you if you call @mathslover here.. He can explain you far better than me..
i know what i did wrong so please stop fighting
I will.. But who will pay for it that rebecca got the wrong answer @annas
Helping does not mean that you can give wrong answers and that too directly.. Let us stop this topic here...
c'mon for God sake human make mistakes and we learn from our mistakes. and @rebecca1233 i m so sorry that you got wrong answer hope you forgive
