In a square, the sum of the lengths of three sides is 48 and in a rectangle the difference between a length and a width is 7 in. If a width of the rectangle is the same as a side of the square, how long is a length of the rectangle?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Draw out a square and a rectangle on a piece of paper and label as much as you can on it from the problem. Try to write out what equations you know, look at the words the problem is using.

Try to have fun with it, it's a puzzle and you can figure it out by thinking about it. It's ok to mess up a few times in figuring out stuff.
