When a journalists plagiarizes , what happens to his/her career is that it may be over. If the the person she/he copy the work from decides to accuse her/him for it, she/he gets into a more serious trouble. In colleges and universities it goes against the academic rules, imagine in a work place... You can even sue somebody for plagiarism :/
