can you use synthetic division to divide a polynomial by a quadratic expression?????

OpenStudy (btaylor):

no, synthetic division is only used when you have (x-k). You otherwise have to do long division.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

but you could factor the quadratic expression, then divide the polynomial by its factors (if there are any).
