do you need nitric oxide (NO) or nitrogen dioxide (NO2)?

I would write a balance equation, find the limiting reagent, and do a little stoichometry to come up with your prediction

The law of Reciprocal Proportions needs to be used....i got the answer as 1.7 and its simple multiples....but the answer on the book is given as 1.67 and its simple multiples.... Please help me get the sum using Law of Reciprocal Proportions only.
