I have a question about equations of special lines

OpenStudy (waheguru):

The book says Plotting the y-intercept of 5, then performing a run of 1 unit (dont get this) and a rise of 0 would result in a horozontal line passing through the point (0,5)?????

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

They are just trying to explain to you why a line with slope zero would be horizontal

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Yea but why did they say the rise 1 part that would mean we land at 6right>

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

You could just as well say: "perform a run of 12 and a rise of 0"

OpenStudy (waheguru):

how?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

its a "run" of 1 they said NOT a "rise" of 1

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Sorry run, but why do we run 1 I am very confused

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

the run could be ANY number, let me show show you in a drawing...
