how to get the area?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes teacher is correct are=265
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Area=L*W break Each total into three pieces that are rectangles and add them togethe

Break the whole figure into 3 rectangles and calculate area by L*w and add the three areas for your total
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@Diffeqnofun I alwaysgot 290
OpenStudy (anonymous):
in the left side rectangle the length is 20 and width is 5 so area of left side ractangle is=20*5=100
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I got that 100 too
OpenStudy (anonymous):
in the right most side rectangle the length =20 and width 6 then area=20*6=120

Make sure you use 15 *14 for the large rectangle instead of total 20
OpenStudy (anonymous):
in the middle the length is 14-11=3
and width =20-5=15
so area =3*15=45
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now where did you get 15 and 3?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Also make sure your unit s are square units for area
OpenStudy (anonymous):
add all 100+120+45=265

in the middle one length= 14-(5+6)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and width 20-5=15
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do u understand it now
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes got it.
