quotient = x-1,
the answer is :
\[x ^{3} +3x ^{2}-7x +5 +(-4/x ^{2-1})\]
so the remainder is:
\[-4/x ^{2}-1 \]
and given that \[x = \pm \sqrt{1} = \pm1\]
then the remainder is
\[-4/0 \]
which is undefined.
