I am able to enter interactive mode and have Python execute statements. How do I create a file to be executed?

go to file and create a new window

I have no options/tabs like 'File'. I am thinking maybe I don't have IDLE. There was a link to follow to install Python, but I haven't found one for IDLE.

I am just double-clicking on python.exe.

i guess you can try to reinstall python. Whenever I downloaded it, IDLE was installed as well.

Is it a separate exe file? Do you start IDLE rather than Python?
