Alg question...Please Help? What is the sum of......picture posted below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus this....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its like adding fractions, they need a common denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would you find the common denominator for this one?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

with functions, just multiply the denoms together and ... for lack of a better descriptor... cross multiply the denoms with the numerators

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do not understand...sorry, can you like "show it"? or give an example

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[\frac{a}{b}+\frac{c}{d}=\frac{ad+cb}{bd}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hso it would be ....\[8(z+9)+5(z-2) \over (z-2)(x+9)\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

perfect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And i would just simplify that to get my answer?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome, and good luck :)
