Help with Trigonometry please? Find x to the nearest tenth. Consult the table below if you need to find the correct tangent ratio. Tangent Table --> https://media.glynlyon.com/a_matgeo_2011/5/groupi94.gif Angle --> https://media.glynlyon.com/a_matgeo_2011/5/73_370.gif x = ?

My work: 20* = x/10 0.3640 = x/10 10 divided by 0.3640 = 27.47 rounded to the nearest tenth = 27.5

Think about the tangent definition. Tan(angle) = opposite/adjacent The opposite side is x, the adjacent side is 10. You know the angle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so should i multiply it then instead? that would be 3.64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\tan(20) = x / 10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct, so x = 10tan(20) clearly. Simply look up the value for tan(20) and round to the nearest 10th.

okay thanks :)
