What are the excluded values? -7 / ( x^2 - 2x - 25 ) ~when i tried to substitute, none of them seemed to work?~ A) 0 and 15 B) 3 and -5 C) -3 and 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

set the denominator equal to zero and solve for \(x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see the problem there is a mistake here somewhere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe it is \(x^2-2x-15\) in the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh im sorry! yes its ment to be 25!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean 15, i did it agian.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so, then set \(x^2-2x-15=0\) get \((x-5)(x+3)=0\) and therefore \(x=-3\) or \(x=5\) are the excluded values since you are not allowed to divide by zero

thanks so much!
