Let's step through this one: It's not Nimitz, he was a Navy admiral. Not Byrnes because he was a politician. And not Ickes, either, because he was cabinet member of Roosevelt's government. So the right answer is definitely Albert Einstein. Einstein left Germany because of the rise of the Third Reich and warned Roosevelt of the danger and the possibility of Nazi Germany building an atomic bomb.
