in an experiment, if doubling the manipulated variable results in a doubling of the responding variable, the relationship between the variables is a {an} ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

direct

OpenStudy (kainui):

If doubling one halved the other, then you'd know it was an inverse relationship. For example Circumference = pi * Diameter. If you double the diameter, the circumference will double as well. Now in the equation (5 newtons of force) = mass * acceleration if you double the mass you half to halve your acceleration to get 5 newtons of force.

OpenStudy (jtfan2000):

inverse proportion
