-checking answers- Lila forgot the security code for her apartment building. The code is two different digits followed by a capital letter. How many different possible codes are there? ~~~ I answered 2,106 correct?

OpenStudy (amriju):

10*9*26

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm. ok that makes a difference.

OpenStudy (amriju):

U see first digit can be 0 to 9 anythng....10 possiblities..AND next digit cant be same...so 9 possibilities AND last alphabet can be A to Z...26 possibilities. Remember the basic law of per and comb...AND means multiply

massive thanks! hopefullly its correct. :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

the 26 depends though....if you're american haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, good point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first two parts have 10 choices each (the digits 0-9) and the third part has 26 choices (all the letters of the alphabet). 10x10x26=2600 possible codes. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110827152528AAOUE8G 2nd question
