Triangle ABC is a right triangle. Point D is the midpoint of side AB and point E is the midpoint of side AC. The measure of angle ADE is 68°. The flow chart with missing statements and reasons proves that the measure of angle ECB is 22°.Which statement and reason can be used to fill in the numbered blank spaces? A. 1. Corresponding angles are congruent 2. Triangle Sum Theorem 3. Measure of angle AED is 22° B. 1. Corresponding angles are congruent 2. Base angle theorem 3. Measure of angle AED is 68°
C. 1. Alternate interior angles are congruent 2. Triangle Sum Theorem 3. Measure of angle AED is 22° D. 1. Alternate interior angles are congruent 2. Triangle angle sum theorem 3. Measure of angle AED is 68°
give me a moment...
There. That's the whole question...
hi!
hi!
Do you see that you have similar triangles? That should help a lot.
ok... thanks!
Try to see the big picture first, then do all of the mind-numbing stuff necessary for a proof of this kind. The big thing is similar triangles (with a ratio of 2, since you have the midpoint). The other is that the angle at A is a right angle, so you can use what you know about complementary angles. I'm sure you can do this with those two ideas.
Thanks!!
