solve 2m-3p=1;p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve for m first.. 2m = 1+3p so m = (1+3p)/2 substitute m to the equation. 2((1+3p)/2) - 3p = 1 now you can solve for p. once you got the values of p and m, substitute to the original equation.

hmm

substitution? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2m-3p=1\] add \(3p\) so both sides \[2m=1+3p\] subtract 1 from both sides \[2m-1=3p\] divide by 3\[\frac{2m-1}{3}=p\]
