OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Those are variables. Essentially, they are boxes that store values that your program can use in calculations. The double and int keywords are used when you first declare the existence of a variable to tell what kind of things it can store. There are many other keywords as well, but the different between double and int is that double can store floating point numbers and int can only store whole numbers.
