or i like to just write out the remainders in a row, say we are looking for mod4, the possible remainders are: 0 1 2 3 then you can continue the count filling each row 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 each column contains all the "congruent" mod4s
