How do you remember the greater than or less than sign. And What exactly are inequalities?

inequalities are used to describe a problem were there are lots of possible answers.

e.g. select a number greater than 5

you could have 6, 10, 50, 200, 320... and many more

so it could be written 

x > 5

which reads x is greater then 5.... so there are may possible answers.
