i have seen this problem several times and it is weird where does it come from?

middle earth

middle age maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the first and third are both \(\frac{2}{36}\) there are 16 cards that excluded from the first example, leaving 2 red 5s out of a total of 36 cards there are two ways to roll a 3 (2,1) and (1,2) out of a total of 36 possibilities for rolling two dice, so both are \(\frac{2}{36}\)
