Suppose you roll a six-sided die two times hoping to get two numbers whose sum is even. What is the sample space? How many favorable outcomes are there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 choices for first roll, 6 for the second by the counting principle the number of outcomes is therefore \(6\times 6=36\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can make a table if you like, but it should be fairly obvious that out of those 36 possible outcomes, half are even and half are odd you can check it
