OpenStudy (hang254):

Greg is making a paper tepee, as shown below. What is the area of the paper required to make the lateral surface of the tepee? 157.1 cm2 427.4 cm2 103.7 cm2 201.1 cm2

OpenStudy (hang254):

@KingGeorge

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

The formula for the lateral area is given by \[A=\pi rs\]where \(r\) is the radius, and \(s\) is the length of the side. In your case, \(r=16/2=8\), and \(s=17\). Does this help you get started?

OpenStudy (hang254):

Yes, it does

OpenStudy (hang254):

@KingGeorge Thank you for the formula. i got 427.04

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

That's what I'm getting as well. Good job.
