whats the geometric sequence of the 10th term?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2,6,18,54,162 to get from 2 ----> 6 you multiply by 3 to get from 6 ----> 18 you multiply by 3 So to find the 10th term just keep multiplying by 3 which will get you to 39366 Now if this is A-level maths and you need the proper working here it is ... a=2 (first term) r=3 (factor) n=10 (because we are looking for the 10th term) Now from the formula booklet that you are given u(base n) = ar^(n-1) therefore u(10) = 2 x 3^(10-1) u(10) = 2 x 19683 u(10) = 39366 Q.E.D Hope this helps :D
