This power is generated from a renewable resource; however, it still has some of the negative effects associated with using power generated by burning fossil fuels. (a) biomass (b) nuclear power (c) solar power (d) wind power
solar...it is the most expensive renewable energy resource
Biomass, definitely
I agree with biomass because you still have to burn it causing pollution (just like in fossil fuels).
solar is very expensive and least efficient ..also not applicable to everyplace but biomass is easily available and eco friendly also you can check out the composition of gas it's not that harmful
From the question: "still has some of the negative effects associated with using power generated by burning fossil fuels. " and for biomass: " If not managed carefully, biomass for energy can be harvested at unsustainable rates, damage ecosystems, produce harmful air pollution"
you added IF NOT....
I didn't add it...it's a quote. Biomass when burned generates pollution. The question is asking you to find a similarity between a renewable source and the burning of fossil fuels. It doesn't say anything about costs.
okay..now i got your question
I agree that it can generate a lot less pollution though....
Read this article, please. That will destroy many of our beliefs about biomass generating less pollution. Especially statistics in page 496 (3 in the pdf): http://earthjustice.org/sites/default/files/black-carbon/gustafsson-et-al-2009-brown-clouds.pdf
I stand corrected...biomass pollution is definitely worse than I originally thought.
@CarlosGP agreed !! thanks
