use the same approach (the one we used in bermuda triangle) here. L1/W1 = L2/W2 L1,W1 = length, breadth of one rectangle L2,W2 = length, breadth of second triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer choices are 3 8 11 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 8..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no..that's not the answer. show me ur work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont even know what i did. i dont uderstand how to do this ata ll

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u understood how we got that ratio?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinda

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x/15=3x-9/13 is that the ratio?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x - 9/ 15 = 2x/ 13 -> 13 ( 3x - 9 ) = 30x --> 39x - 30x = 117 => x = 117/ 9 = 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh no! 2x is the width of one rect. while 15 is the length of the other! these two are NOT corresponding sides. width corresponds to width length corresponds to length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait....that was posted by snapbacklive....my bad! did u get my point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplybeyoutiful DO U HAVE IT ?
