Determine whether the following polynomials can be factored by grouping. If so, factor the polynomials showing all work. If not, explain why this method will not work. 4x2 + 12xy + 2x + 2y 3m2 + 6mn + 7m + 14n

OpenStudy (ghazi):

just try to take common in both the equations like in first equation from 4x2+12xy you can write 4x(x+12y) similarly process ahead

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you do some of it ?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

but in the first equation you can't factor by grouping like 4x(x+12y) has nothing common with 2(x+y)..so you can't make group here

OpenStudy (ghazi):

and if it would have had the structure 4x(x+12y) and 2(x+12y) we would have written (4x+2)(x+12y)

OpenStudy (ghazi):

hope you got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (ghazi):

cool
