Against what backdrop did the rise of ideologies of capitalism, socialism and communism clash?

Pretty much after world war one because after that russia had a revolution and developed a communist state and most of europe followed which made nazi germany grow into a giant empire. But were it really clashed was not there thats were it started. It clashed in the cold war because thats when the U.S culture was telling people communism is bad and capitalism is good and we had to beat soviet russia at everything. AND in present day alot of people this China the socialist country will start a new cold war style age because we are locking horns with them. Capitalism formed in the U.S since its exisistance we have fought a civil war over it. Notice they say the north was putting the south of of buisness. The U.S clashed with communism in the cold war and now they clash with socialism.
