rocket is projected upward from ground level height equation h=-16t^2+160t. after how many seconds is the height 336 feet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.92 seconds? i dont have a graphing calculator so im not 100% on that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the formula used?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

substitute h = 336 so 336 = -16t^2 + 160t rewriting the equation 16t^2 - 160t + 336 = 0 just solve the quadratic...you may be able to take out a common factor of 8 to simplify the quadratic.

thank you

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

Looking at the question you'll need the general quadratic formula... but I think 16 divides into every term to simplify the problem
