i have seen a few instances when right after a question has been answered, the asker would immediately edit the question and turn it into a dot or something...i would just like to ask why would someone do that?
So, there are a number of reasons. I've seen some pople who choose to treat their questions like an inbox. So, when we took away the ability to delete, they started doing that. Another reason I've seen is that they are asking questions on the site they don't want their teacher to see for some reason. In either event, we consider this abusive - and you should report it if you see it. We can restore the old version of the question if needed.
what do you mean by "treat their questions like inbox" asking questions directed to one person only? or kind of like a spam question that is just talking to someone?
Well for them they think "oh I'm done with this question, so I should delete it for cleanliness" - much like you would an inbox. Well, some people do that. I don't. heh.
oh... OCD's...i know the pain...
