What is a possible first step to eliminate a variable in the following system? 7x – 9y = 2 3x – 6y = –4 a. Multiply the first equation by 2 and the second equation by –3. b. Multiply the first equation by –3 and the second equation by –2. c. Multiply the first equation by 7 and the second equation by 3. d. Multiply the first equation by –2 and the second equation by 4.
this question was a little more difficult for me....
these never do have a suitable answer
all of those can be a first possible step that doesnt detract from the final outcome
what does that mean? one has to be the answer..
it means that scaling and equation doesnt effect the results in the end; so it doesnt matter what you start out scaling them by ....
multiply the top by -3/7 and the bottom by 1 .... why aint that one in there?
jite; multiply the whole thing, not just a side of it
yes but the options do not have that .. @jiteshmeghwal9 they have: \[\large{7(7x-9y)}\]and \[\large{3(3x-64)}\]
