here are a few cases of irony that i remember Lots of examples of situational irony:
1. In the beginning Roger forced his newborn son Benjamin to attend kindergarten, even tho he looked like an old man and would rather smoke cigars and read the encyclopedia instead of color. The irony is at the end of the story Benjamin returned to kindergarten when his body looked like the other kids.

2. When Benjamin first married Hildegarde, she was young and he looked old. She would drag him to parties even though he didn't want to go. Later when she got older it was Benjamin who danced all night at the parties while Hildegarde sat on the sidelines.

3. When Benjamin enlisted in the Army he looked older and got promoted quickly. The irony is that when he returned to get his award for his service to his country, he had grown to "young" to fit into his uniform. The Army thought he was a kid playing soldier.

4. Benjamin tried to enroll into Yale College, but they laughed at him as being too old. Later when Benjamin grew "younger" he went back to school.
