How to find equation of best fit for set of exponential data? I'm in GR11, so I don't think regression is suitable for this problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is GR11? Like 11th grade, I guess?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why don't you plot 2^x and 4^x and compare them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They provided a huge list of data (profits of certian company) and expect me to determine equation of best fit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All exponentials have the same basic shape, just multiplied by a factor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Huh. Without knowing even linear regression, let alone fancier things?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm on OS X so I have a reasonable plotter. There are online plotters. I'd suggest putting the points in and then just trying b^x + c until it looks reasonable. b will determine the steepness and c offset in the y direction.
