I'd say verbal irony..since he says it but in a weak voice meaning lacking self confidence so it must be that.
I don't know what the situation is, it would help if i did, but i'd say it's sarcasm.
I don't know who this mysterious Benjamin Button is, so I don't know the situation, but I think it can be both verbal irony and sarcasm. Verbal irony is when someone says one thing but means another. Sarcasm is the use of irony to mock someone.
