8 ∙ 8 (mod 6)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

8*8 = 64 Now divide 64 by 6. The remainder you get will be the answer

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

wouldnt you take 8(mod 6) first before multiplying? mods are not included in PEMDAS :(

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can do that too, either method works

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i got different answers though...

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

8 = 2 (mod 6) so 8*8 = 2*2 = 4 (mod 6) OR 8*8 = 64 = 4 (mod 6)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

OHHH nice

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes so either way works, the first is probably easier, but it depends
