The figure below shows a transversal t which intersects the parallel lines AB and CD. Write a paragraph to prove that the sum of the measures of angle 1 and angle 2 is equal to 180°.
Please help!!!
do you have a pic or diagram of some kind...
off topic but i do flvs too...
When a transversal intersect two parallel lines then the adjacent angles are always same....
angle 2 = angle 3 (alternate angles) angle 1 + angle 3 = 180 degrees ( 2 angles on a straight line) therefore angle 1 + angle 2 = 180 degrees
Ok!!! Nice to know!!! XD
the flvs part, I mean
start with 1 and 3 and supplementary. then show the alternate interior to 1 then you have 1 + 2 are supplementary. you could show the corresponding angle to 1 then 1 + 2 are supplementary on the transversal. 2 is interior alternate to 3 then 1 + 3 are supplementary
Ok, I will.
:)
ang 3 congr ang 2-------------------------> alt int angs ang 1 and ang 3 supplemantary----------> they are adjacent and form a linear pair ang 1 and ang 2 are supp--------------> substitution prop (3=2; 1+3=180; so 1+2=180 )
Thank you so much!!!! You are such a lifesaver!!!!
well thats all i know... soo good luck on ur test/quiz thing!! lol!! ;p
Thank you!!!!!
your welcome :D
