if f(x)=15-2x^2 then find the tangent line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are u familiar with derivatives?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do we need a specific value of x at which we need to find the tangent equation? e.g. at x=1 the y=17-4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean should the value of x be given in order to find the tangent line?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

You could assume the tangent is tangent to the curve at x=x0, then y0=15-2x0^2, or the point on the curve is (x0, 15-2x0^2).
